Hi! I got following error on kali linux when trying to build a java application.
Error:Unable to start the daemon process.
This problem might be caused by incorrect configuration of the daemon.
For example, an unrecognized jvm option is used.
Please refer to the user guide chapter on the daemon at https://docs.gradle.org/4.4.1/userguide/gradle_daemon.html
The problem occurred with openjdk-8 version. Changed the java to openjdk-11 and the problem was resolved.
Hi 🙂 If you need to migrate your java project from maven to gradle build mechanism, rather than seeking support of the IDE you can use a simple gradle command as follows;
Command: gradle init –type pom
- Execute the above command
Result: It will generate the necessary files gradle, build.gradle, gradlew, etc.
2. I’ll be using Intellij IDEA. Now you can import the project to the IDE given the build.gradle. Then it will be automatically import the dependencies.
If the project contains no errors then you can safely remove the pom.xml file from the project. 🙂
(Note: When you view the build file you will see most or all dependencies are included, but might not the plugin configurations defined in the pom file. So will have to add them manually)
Cheers ! 🙂
